Learn the basics of probing

This is an introductory course designed for operators and programmers new to Renishaw spindle probing cycles. This course will be taught on a Fanuc machine, but 90% of this course is control-agnostic.

You will earn a certificate of completion from Renishaw at the end of the course.

Renishaw offers an extensive range of inspection probes for machine tools which support a breadth of applications. Our probes fall into three categories depending on which technology they use:
standard-accuracy, high-accuracy, and scanning.

Topics covered

  • What is a probe and how does it function?
  • How to perform first-time setup on a probe or replace a damaged stylus
  • How to pair and calibrate a probe
  • Calibration types and best practices
  • How and when to configure trigger logic
  • Introduction to Set & Inspect, GoProbe, and Reporter
  • Basics of how to call probing cycles and introduction to the programming manual.
