A guide to using the best laser for Raman spectroscopy

Raman spectrometers can be equipped with a wide range of laser sources, emitting at different wavelengths. Our Applications Manager, Tim Smith and Sales and Applications Scientist, Jerome Innocent, will dive deep into why it matters to choose the right laser for your Raman analysis.

Starting with the basics, they will explain:
  • Why we choose different laser wavelengths for different samples
  • How the laser wavelength affects the intensity of Raman scattering
  • The effect of laser wavelength on both spatial and spectral resolution
  • What is resonance Raman spectroscopy?
  • How to avoid fluorescence backgrounds and sample damage
By the end of the webinar, you will be fully equipped to decide which laser wavelength to choose for your sample analysis

Who should attend:
  • Students and researchers who are learning how to use a Raman microscope
  • Experienced users who want to optimise their Raman measurements

Back by popular demand, this webinar recaps the content of our most watched webinar. We hope that a refresher will help your understanding of lasers for Raman spectroscopy. We are extending our Q&A segment to engage more with your research.
