El uso del método de comparación en lugar de una máquina de medición absoluta para la fabricación tiene varias ventajas pero primero habría que comenzar por definir que es medir y que es comparar.
- Medir, es la operación por la cual se establece cuántas veces una magnitud es mayor o menor que otra tomada como unidad.
- Comparar, es la operación de examinar dos elementos geométricos para descubrir sus relaciones, y diferencias.
En primer lugar, el método de comparación es más económico, mucho más rápido que las máquinas de medición tridimensional y además permite realizar la inspección en la propia línea de fabricación.
- Utilizando el principio de remasterización conseguimos que sea térmicamente insensible, por lo que Equator mantiene su precisión incluso con cambios rápidos de temperatura en un rango de entre +5º y +50ºC.
- Tiene un coste inicial muy inferior al de los útiles de control y CMMs tradicionales.
